Not Fine Dining Just a Fine Diner

Mecca’s been feeding Seattle since 1930-a rough-edged dive diner where the portions of homemade comfort food and diner classics are are huge and priced right. Pancakes piled high, burgers thick and greasy, classic dinners that stick to your ribs, and friendly customer service until you prove you deserve otherwise. It’s the kind of place for the hungry, the lost, and the restless - a sanctuary where the food hits hard and the drinks burn slow and one of the few places still open late for food in this town striving to be a city.

We’re known for a few things - stiff drinks, authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, Mom’s meatloaf, fries cut by hand. But forget the vodka. The real deal is the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, smothered in sausage gravy. It’s steak, not chicken - breaded and then fried, and thrown on your plate like it owes you money. You’ll love it.

One of the city’s few restaurants open when the rest of the city curls up and dies for the night. Mecca’s your go-to for homemade comfort food, no matter the clock.

We ate here at the recommendation from staff at our hotel when in Seattle last week and had breakfast for lunch that day. The classic French toast was wonderful! My friend had a breakfast platter and it had so much food she couldn’t finish it. We came back the next day and shared a Monte Cristo that was one of the ... best I’ve ever eaten. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and good prices. I’d love to come back someday. Read More

I was so looking forward to dining here and I’m glad I have. I had lunch the first day I was here and breakfast the next morning. The corn beef hash is extraordinary. Services fairly friendly, depending on who your server is and the atmosphere is awesome. For lunch, I had the hot beef sandwich which not many people ... serve anymore. The mashed potatoes are homemade and so is the gravy. If you’re in Seattle check this out. Read More

Great diner! Had an eggs Benedict which was fabulous. Worth the upset stomach lol (not their fault I got belly issues). Hash browns super tasty. The staff was so nice. Had such fun diner vibes. They have a happy hour breakfast and afternoon and late night I wanna go back for. I wanna try lunch - a diner turkey club ... with fries is one of my favorite meals, gotta go back!! Pricier than the diners from when I grew up in Jersey but that's city life and 2024 prices for ya haha Read More

Another referral from our hotel and we were not disappointed. I had the 'mess' with no fungus (mushrooms) or tomatoes, the Mrs had the 2 egg combo breakfast, and we got a side order of french toast. Service was great, PLENTY OF FOOD, price was okay (it's Seattle, not middle America). The only issue was that we wanted ... 'crispy' bacon. But, with the thickness of the bacon, we got 2 orders of cooked bacon, not really crispy. That's no reason not to eat this great food. Read More

Food was top tier. Exactly what we wanted when we think of breakfast and diner food. Place was very busy and lived up to the hype. Every plate ordered was prepared exceptionally well with honestly not one complaint other than the hollandaise sauce I ordered on the side for my omelet lacked any flavor. Service was a ... little abrasive I would have to say. But he was attentive and did his job exactly as needed. But I wouldn't expect anything above that. No customer service skills. This one thing however will not affect the overall food and experience however. Prices were very fair especially considering portion sizes. Read More

Hands down the best country fried steak in my life. Wife loved her omelette. Not sure if the theme is that the waiter is supposed to be somewhat rude, but he did take good care of us.

The service was excellent and the server was attentive. The food towers on the plate. Everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is very pleasant and inviting.

This place had a Men in Black when they get pie vide. Very low key and absolutely wonderful. We got the Fish & Chips and French Toast Breakfast. The fish was so good and the French toast was fantastic. They also rotate local ciders. We had the Channel Marker Honey Badger.
